I like the blues structure you use. we should get together and do some song together. I have a lot experience with producing, maybe we could blast out a nice track :)
just a little sample of what i've made. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/liste n/467825
did everything myself.
message me if you're up for it.
(PS, the drums I sequenced myself, and i've gotten a lot better with natural sounding sequencing since then, but for this song, i was going to make a wayyyyy better drum track, then i just got lazy :P)
but if you wanna try something, go for it.

hey, glad you enjoyed it. I checked out the link, and i absolutely love it. I will be getting to you very soon, and we'll set somethin up. Look forward to workin with you. :)

you gotta sing an octave up, because your voice can hit that register, you'd need to do some practicing in expanding your voice's registers. anyhow, this really isn't blues...but okay..
i liked it.

TylerFromTexas responds:

Alright. I changed it to General Rock.

one critique i could make, would be to get everything a little more in sync, it seemed out, so that kinda threw me off. otherwise, very nice job!
you've clearly got talent, but when your project's not in sync, it can kinda take some of that away! so just make sure you work a little more on getting every track to match on the rhythm scheme of things.
very good! :)

good! very unique blues! i like it.
almost expanded outside the category of blues, and explored some other regions, which made it rather interesting to listen to!
one critique i could make, would be to change some of the velocity on those piano notes at the beginning of the track to give more of an acoustic sound and human variation. and the pan flute or whatever its called..that voice could have been edited on the velocity level as well :) but over all, fantastic job!

work on that multitrack recording, and that sound quality.
almost more folk themed.
otherwise, generally good. i liked it.

C-G-B responds:

Yeah my mic right now sucks and it works 1 out of 10 times so until I get a new one I'm just screwing around.

i definitely dont feel that this track deserves a 3...
not all songs need a big bass, and this is a good example. it didnt need a hard bass until you gave it one.
i liked how it started out! it was unexpected. it started out ambient, and then went to a slow swing gated breakdown. i REALLY REALLY liked that. i thought you would start it off big and fast after the ambient voices, but no. you took it a different direction at the get go, which i both appreciate and admire.
the song was pretty good. could have been a bit better thought out for the ending, however.
anyhow, i liked it. it's there, but not quite. nice track

YakovlevArt responds:

Thanks for the extensive review. I really appreciate when another producer/user tells how much they liked a part or what they didn't like. I understand that most people would like the slower drum part to have "moar bass" because that part sounds like weak dubstep, which it's not. But I can see the confusion.
Thanks for the kind words. If the final version doesn't get signed, I'll release it for free on here.
I'll let you know then.

the melody could have been made a little more clear throughout the track.
i do like some of the nifty dnb sounds tho, you did a pretty good job with that. just work on blending them a little more with the drum track (even though you did a superb job with that, it's something that takes most dnb artists a good amount of patience and practice to master)
and work on making your song flow together a little more. you did an okay job with that, but it could be improved. make sure musical phrases fit nicely together, and that they flow into one and other seamlessly. that always makes for a good track!
nice job, though, man!
i like the work!

needs to be a little better polished and a little more in tune. chord progression needs to be a little better presented to the listener. you may wanted to have cleaned up that rhythm line a little bit. a clear beat could really be found at the beginning of the track. otherwise, you have potential to make a great song.
you may want to have slowed it down too, blues typically doesnt flow so fast, and it typically has a more expanded chord progression than just one chord.
anyhow, id like to see what you come up with in the future. keep me posted.

Destrayop responds:

Thanks for the listen and the review dude!
Yeah.. Maybe I'll do a more bluesy version someday-- this one really should qualify as general rock or something else, but in comparison to my other stuff, I couldn't think of a better place to put it than blues. Thanks again for the constructive criticism dude, it's much appreciated.

just think of the bpm! haha, if i ever danced to this, it would hurt! and it kinda distorted the voice.
lol, thats the only thing id have to critique, otherwise it was pretty good. you should have changed that high pitched thin synth, cuz it was a little hard on the ears, and i feel like if u woulda changed it, it woulda sounded just a little different a lot better.

viewtifulday responds:

But I love the tempo! Haha and yeah, I see what you're saying about the synth--originally I tried a fat supersynth for the lead, but it interfered too much with the hats and such...my program really sucks :(

that intro synth really made no sense to me, and it was really really killer on the ears.
remember, and sometimes I have trouble with this, but you're not just making something that you enjoy producing, but you're making something that you're going to want others to listen to.

one thing i will complement, however, is how that heavy bass carries the song. i personally like a big bass; i guess it's just because im a bassist (and a guitarist, and a pianist, and etc.etc.).
but you did a nice job on the bass.
